(Presseportal openBroadcast) - Orlando, FL – November 19, 2015 – First-aid kits are essential and are even considered to be life-saving. They contain the items necessary for cleansing and dressing wounds. However, it seems that people should be wary about the medications they put in their kits.

Experts warn against the first-aid products that hurt more than they heal. There are over-the-counter antibiotic ointments and creams that are typically found in many first aid kits. Unfortunately, they are found to bring more harm than good.

“One of the best ways to deal with wounds and achieve safe healing is to simply use natural ingredients,” said Divine Bounty spokesperson, Melissa Scott.

While not known to the many, there is actually a global crisis of antibiotic resistance epidemic that is killing millions of newborns, especially in India. This is thought to be caused by a widespread over-prescription and over-production of antibiotics.

In the paper published in the Clinical Infectious Diseases, it was revealed that infectious diseases continue to be the second-leading cause of mortality worldwide, despite the wide availability of antibiotics.

The Emerging infectious Diseases published a study that found antibacterial ointments are among the factors that contribute to the prevalence of the MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) lethal strain.

The MRSA bacteria affect people via skin-to-skin contact. It is also thought to strike individuals who are susceptible to scrapes and cuts such as athletes and children.

There are notorious antibiotic creams that cause an allergic reaction. There are those who suffer from pain, redness, swelling and even puss in the affected areas. Other allergic reaction symptoms include swelling, itching, hives, rash, irritation, and burning.

Experts recommend that people should be more and more educated about the use and overuse of antibiotics as well as the consequences of antibiotic resistance. There are safe, natural, and effective remedies that can help stop bleeding and heal wounds.

One of these natural remedies is turmeric, which is an ancient, medicinal spice used for thousands of years to fight a range of conditions. Turmeric contains a phytochemical called curcumin that has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.

Turmeric is thought to have the ability to stop bleeding. When turmeric powder is applied on the wound, it is believed to cause the blood to clot immediately. The wound-healing effects of turmeric have long been recognized, especially in the traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.

Turmeric is also widely studied and is believed to offer hundreds of health benefits. It can be consumed through supplementation as there are already curcumin supplements available nowadays (www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-BioPerine-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00VSVKJ8I).
