(Presseportal openBroadcast) - Orlando, FL – December 24, 2015 – Today, more and more people are suffering from a range of diseases. Some of the conditions are developed due to unhealthy eating habits and lifestyle, while others are infectious and are spread through physical or sexual contact. The human papillomavirus (HPV) is an example of a sexually transmitted disease that is widespread nowadays.

One study investigates the HPV-fighting effects of turmeric. This condition is often addressed through medications and surgery. However, the use of a natural alternative called turmeric is also found to be beneficial against the condition.

Turmeric is a natural remedy that has been used for thousands of years, especially in the Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine. It is a perennial plant called curcuma longa, and is popularize by its medicinal values.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reveals that in the United States, 50 percent of the sexually active individuals are affected with the virus. What is even more alarming is that 30 out of its 100 types are believed to increase the risk of cervical and vaginal cancer.

Turmeric is thought to have the ability to manage the infection. This medicinal spice contains a phytochemical called curcumin, which has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.

The journal called Molecular Carcinogenesis published a study in its 2011 issue that revealed curcumin could potentially decrease the expression of HPV oncoproteins. It is also thought to be effective in inducing the programmed cell death called apoptosis of cancer cells. The therapeutic properties of curcumin are also found to improve the expression of tumor suppressing proteins.

In 2006, the journal also reaffirmed the therapeutic effects of curcumin against HPV-associated cervical cancer cell. This is due to the anticancer and antitumor properties it contains. Scientists are still conducting more studies to validate and clinically prove the health benefits of curcumin against HPV.

At this moment, curcumin is widely used for a range of medicinal purposes. It is generally considered safe to use, and as a matter of fact, it is a popular natural alternative to pain relief drugs.

Many people who suffer from arthritic conditions often use pain management medications to achieve relief. Pain and inflammation often hinder them from doing their daily routines and force them to live a reduced quality of life.

To achieve pain relief and improved mobility, arthritis sufferers resort to the use of these medications. However, these drugs are associated with side effects. To avoid these undesirable effects, many arthritis sufferers use curcumin supplements (http://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-BioPerine-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00VSVKJ8I/).
