(Presseportal openBroadcast) - SAN CLEMENTE, CA, February 19, 2016 /PressReleasePing/ - As part of their ongoing efforts to provide the best information on Formaldehyde & Testing, A+ Inspections has published a new article entitled "Formaldehyde Information & Testing" which sheds light on the most important aspects of formaldehyde testing for small business owners and home owners. Interested individuals can view the full article at:

One of the most surprising pieces of information in the article is the fact that everyday sources of formaldehyde can cause specific health issues and how to reduce exposure.

In discussing the article's creation, Michael Maseline, Owner of A+ Inspections said,
"The recent expose by 60 Minutes about Lumber Liquidators laminate flooring having elevated levels of formaldehyde has prompted this informational article to inform consumers about the danger and offer common sense ways to protect oneself.

Tens of thousands of California homes have Lumber Liquidators laminate flooring installed and more than 100 million board feet of Lumber Liquidators flooring is installed annually in U.S. homes

Formaldehyde can be toxic, allergenic, and carcinogenic. Because formaldehyde resins are used in many construction materials it is one of the more common indoor air pollutants. Formaldehyde is currently used in thousands of products as an adhesive, bonding agent, solvent, and as a preservative in many products such as: clothing, laminate flooring, carpet, draperies, upholstery, paneling, wall covering, furniture and even paint. All of these 'off gas' for some time after installation and may cause headaches, eye, ear, nose and throat irritation, difficulty breathing, trigger or aggravate asthma symptoms, respiratory problems, and leukemia. Most affected by this are children and the elderly."

Formaldehyde does not accumulate in the environment, because it is broken down within a few hours by sunlight or by bacteria present in soil or water.
