The study involved 56 female participants who received a three-month exercise intervention once a week. The control group, on the other hand, was given general information about the benefits of regular exercise.
It was found that the Tai Chi group experienced an improvement in blood vessel health and a reduction in arterial stiffness as well as in their total cholesterol levels. The study was published in the Arthritis Research && Therapy medical journal.
According to the researchers, Tai Chi has successfully helped improve endothelial dysfunction as well as arterial stiffness. It could be a useful behavioral strategy for the prevention of cardiovascular disease among individuals with the condition.
