DSPORT brings Major League Soccer to India

(Presseportal openBroadcast) - Indian soccer fans will get to see the full season of Major League Soccer (MLS) for the first time in India as DSPORT, a dedicated sports channel from the Discovery Channel cluster, will telecast the league live from March 04 (08:15 am Indian Time).

Launched in 1996 with 10 teams, the Major League Soccer embarks on its 22nd year in the current season. The 22nd edition of the Major League Soccer features 22 teams including two new teams in the Atlanta United and Minnesota United.

MLS officially opens its season with a match between the host Portland Timbers and the expansion Minnesota United. The Timbers were the MLS Cup champions in 2015 but failed to make the playoffs last season. The two teams played to a 2-all draw in the preseason.

Players who are poised to figure prominently in the quest for MLS Cup 2017 are David Villa (New York City FC),Tim Howard (Colorado Rapids),JozyAltidore (Toronto FC),Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders),Giovani Dos Santos (LA Galaxy),Kaka (Orlando City),Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC),Miguel Almiron (Atlanta United),Nicolas Lodeiro (Seattle Sounders),CyleLarin (Orlando City),Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers)

DSPORT- Discovery’s new sports channel is available on DishTV channel 630, Videocon D2H channel 410 and Hathway channel 183 amongst others.
