Entertainment Industry/breaking into entertainment

(Presseportal openBroadcast) - In March 2012, I found myself facing college graduation with beyond zero idea of what I was going to do with my life. The majority of my friends were either applying to graduate schools or moving to NYC to work in finance. I knew if I forced myself to work in finance, within a week, I'd either a) be fired or b) have a severe mental breakdown. So what did I do instead? The most impulsive thing I could've done - move to Los Angeles to pursue a childhood dream of becoming a professional actor. Five and a half years, countless anxiety attacks, and enough stories to last a lifetime, I'm surprisingly still in LA. And I say surprisingly because I think about leaving this industry, getting a 9-5 job and moving to rural Alaska on a daily basis. Mainly because it's hard, I mean really hard, but I'm too stubborn to quit and I'm determined to make a seemingly impossible dream come true. I'm sharing this with all of you because I've learned a lot along the way - not just about this profession, but determination, rejection, facing your fears, and most importantly, self love. I'm hoping that my failures and lessons can provide you guys with comfort or, at the very least, some laughs.
